Job Description

Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Help with development of the Piedmont Dispatcher Training Manual (DTM) and OCC Policy and Procedure Manual (OCCPPM). Conduct initial and recurrent training. Complete reports as needed. Evaluate new technology to support dispatcher performance and create associated guides. Perform dispatcher competency checks. Initiate and support departmental employee morale improvement efforts. Liaise with OCC personnel and crew members to develop better communication between departments. Prepare and coordinate internal and external dispatch related audits. Be a dispatch supervisor on an as needed basis. The Manager of Flight Operations Support will exercise operational control for regular and supplemental operations, execute safety risk management and perform safety assurance following SMS principles, and promote safety throughout the department and organization. When acting as a dispatch supervisor, supervise on-duty dispatchers and manage the day to day flight operations.

The Manager of Flight Operations Support will report to the Senior Manager of Flight Operations and will interface with numerous other department personnel.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current and qualified in accordance with the Piedmont Dispatcher Training Manual and applicable CFRs
  • Hold a current dispatcher certificate
  • Be knowledgeable of Piedmont policies, appropriate CFR and AFM performance capabilities/limitations
  • Have experience as a Dispatch Air Transportation Supervisor (ATS) as outlined in the Piedmont Dispatch Training Manual

Work Environment:      

  • Standard office environment, use of computers and other office equipment
  • Work weekends, nights, holidays and/or irregular shifts
