Job Description

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Foster, maintain and distribute Piedmont’s Maintenance Training Program as directed by the Manager of Maintenance Training. The development and delivery of training courses to Piedmont and contracted employees. Ensuring classroom training records and documentation are current and accurate. Perform training to on-call maintenance agencies and assist the Quality Assurance Department in auditing these agencies. Perform the duties of a supervisor as directed by the Manager of Maintenance Training. Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:      
  • Airframe and Powerplant Certificates
  • Knowledgeable on Piedmont Policy & Procedures, Federal Regulations, and Safety requirements
  • Comprehend and explain procedures and systems in concise verbal, written and multi-media formats relative to technical instruction
  • Good written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • Must have experience using and learning personal computer based programs with skills in Microsoft Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word highly desirable
  • Able and willing to travel extensively and be “away from home” for training assignments.
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Teamwork oriented attitude to achieve departmental goals
  • Has had at least three years’ experience in the maintenance of large aircraft, one year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity or previous instructor experience
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Practical experience with Dash 8 and/or Embraer EMB-145 aircraft systems and structures
  • Practical experience with Dash 8 and/or Embraer EMB-145 avionics systems

 Work Environment:      

  • Standard office environment, use of computers and other office equipment
  • Classroom environment, use of whiteboards and other classroom equipment

Physical Requirements:     

  • Moderate physical activity, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, and kneeling 
  • Handle objects up to 40 pounds for training demonstrations
